Inside the Club
How our Club runs: people, learning, and flying
We are a cooperative of 75 Equity Members, each an equal shareholder in Air-Spacers, Inc., the non-profit entity that owns and operates our aircraft. Our seven airplanes suit different flying styles and missions. Each is available to any qualified member.
01People
Everyone pitches in.
Our Board of Directors, elected annually, oversees Club matters, and each Captain owns a specific Club operation. We are a nonprofit community organization, and every member contributes to the Club’s upkeep through Club Service, our member volunteer program.
Board of Directors
Elected annually by Equity Members, the Board of Directors is a seven-member body that oversees Club matters. Its roles include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Maintenance Chair, Safety Chair, Secretary, and Membership Chair. Equity Members may serve on the Board, while volunteer operational captains help run Club activities.
Plane Captains
Each aircraft has a volunteer Plane Captain who flies it regularly and knows it well. Captains answer member questions, coordinate inspections and maintenance, and oversee upgrades and repairs.

Our approach to safety and maintenance
Our Maintenance Chair and Safety Chair work hand in hand to keep members informed and the fleet safe. Together with Plane Captains, they connect maintenance planning with member safety concerns, coordinate follow-up on reported issues, and share lessons at Club meetings. Our safety culture rests on proactive care, clear communication, and shared responsibility.
Monthly membership meetings
We meet as a Club every month to keep all members informed. Each meeting includes:
- Updates from Plane Captains
- Reports from the Maintenance Chair and Safety Chair
- Notices about upcoming maintenance, upgrades, or inspections
- Open Q&A for members
